There is more than meets the eye: ITF Radix in the UK

One of the great things of being a teacher is meeting people from all walks of life with their questions, their passions and their skills to learn from. Sometimes there is magic in learning and working together in a Taekwon-Do Dojang. My visit to London/Wokingham was one of those pleasant encounters with a new group of like-minded people and their wonderful and passionate instructor. At the spacious dojang off Sabum Michael Turner of TATU Taekwon-Do we came together for an evening off exploring.
The Radix approach was on the menu, working on the 3 most common initiating attacks from the Radix perspective. The seminar all kinds of questions were addressed. What is the value of all these beautiful techniques that you drilled, hour after hour year after year that have become part of your personal movement repertoire? How do we use every last bit of our martial art in a meaningful way? How to use Taekwon-Do technique and principles as an equaliser in (potential) conflict. How do we make Taekwon-Do our superpower?
One of the goals of this evening was: Learning something new about something you already know. After several hours of diligent, intense and cheerful work, people went home with new ideas, an appetite for more and a certainty that there is more to Taekwon-Do that meets the eye.
Keep up the good work, stay safe and be brave!
