ITF Radix Seminar in Seoul, Korea

ITF Radix in Dosan Park: Bringing Do-San Tul Back to Its Roots

I have just spoken with Master Robert Boer about the ITF Radix Tour to Seoul during Easter 2027, and I am very happy to announce that he will be joining us.

During our conversation, we agreed to organize a special ITF Radix seminar as part of the tour. The seminar will take place in Dosan Park in Seoul, where we will explore practical applications from Do San Tul.

This will be far more than an ordinary seminar.

Do San was the pen name of the Korean patriot and educator Ahn Chang Ho, who devoted his life to Korean independence, education, and the moral development of his people. Dosan Park was established in his honor and contains his resting place, a memorial hall, and monuments dedicated to his life and legacy.

To perform Do San Tul and study its applications in this setting will connect the pattern to the person, the history, and the values behind its name.

From Pattern to Application

Do-San Tul contains 24 movements, representing Ahn Chang Ho’s entire life, which he dedicated to advancing education in Korea and supporting the Korean independence movement.

During the seminar, Master Robert Boer and I will take movements and combinations from the pattern and place them in a practical context. We will explore how the movements can be understood as responses to realistic situations involving closerange striking, control, release, takedowns, and followup actions.

This is the essence of ITF Radix: returning to the roots of the patterns and discovering the fighting principles contained within them.

History Beneath Our Feet

There is something powerful about practicing a pattern in a place directly connected to the person it honors.

We will be standing near the resting place of Ahn Chang Ho and surrounded by monuments preserving his memory. We will perform the movements of Do San Tul while exploring how those movements can function as a practical fighting system.

It will bring together Korean history, Taekwon-Do tradition, and the ITF Radix approach in a way that cannot be recreated inside an ordinary training hall.

For everyone participating in the tour, I believe this will become one of those moments that stays with us for the rest of our lives.

A Unique Part of the Seoul Tour

The ITF Radix Tour to Seoul is already designed as a journey back to the roots. We will experience Korea, its culture, its martial arts history, and many of the places connected to the development of Taekwon-Do.

The seminar in Dosan Park will add another unique dimension to that journey.

To study the applications of Do San Tul in the park dedicated to Ahn Chang Ho, together with Master Robert Boer and the other members of the tour, will be a historic occasion for the ITF Radix project.

This will be an opportunity to connect movement with meaning, technique with history, and the patterns we practice today with the people and ideas that inspired them.

I am already looking forward to sharing this unforgettable experience with everyone joining us in Seoul during Easter 2027.
