On October 24, 2026, the ITF Self Defence Development Team held its first pilot seminar in Lingfield, England, bringing together 50 participants to explore new approaches to self defence within ITF Taekwon-Do.
The project aims to strengthen self defence education by building on the principles, techniques and knowledge already present in Taekwon-Do. The focus is on practical application, personal safety, decision making and providing instructors with useful tools for their everyday teaching.
At ITF Radix, we are proud to have our co-founder, Master Robert Boer, involved in this important project as a member of the ITF Self Defence Development Team.
We are also excited to have the opportunity to work alongside Master Mikko Allinniemi and Master Russell Dennis, sharing knowledge, experiences and perspectives.
The philosophy behind this initiative fits naturally with what we have been exploring through ITF Radix for years: understanding our art, discovering its possibilities and making traditional Taekwon-Do relevant and functional.
We look forward to contributing to the continued development of self defence within the ITF!
